Chevrolet has revealed that it has had so much demand for the Chevy Bolt EV that it is having to increase production, after a recent record quarter of sales. GM has announced production for the small EV will be increased, following issues with battery fires. The record sales aren’t a huge surprise, the EV is a pretty good price at the moment at just $26,595 (£23,500). This quarter, the company saw around 15,000 deliveries in the US.

GM has said it also expects the next quarter, Q4 to be another record as so far in 2022 it has deliveries 22,000 Bolt EVs and EUVs. In the US, the Bolt EV saw a large price cut by $6,000 which has certainly helped GM to sell more vehicles, especially when EVs at the moment are going up in price.

In terms of new EVs, GM has the new Silverado EV, Blazer EV and Equinox EV due in 2023.
