Ubiquiti has today released the first camera in the G5 line of devices and the company is touting improved image quality across the board. The G5 Dome looks pretty much identical to the G4 Dome, which is still on sale. The G5 Dome has a new 5MP sensor, vs the 4MP in the G4 Dome as well as being able to handle up to 30FPS, vs 24FPS in the older model.

Like all new UniFi Protect, the G5 Dome will support Smart detections for people and vehicles and now as of a new Protect update, it’ll be able to listen out for smoke and CO alarms if you have those nearby. Like the G4, the G5 is also rated for IPX4 weather proofing and IK08 for vandal resistance.

The G5 Dome is on sale now in the US, EU and UK and is priced from €218.40 in the EU, £193.94 in the UK and $179 which is exactly the same price as the G4 Dome.

The G5 Dome can be found in the US Ubiquiti Store here. As of writing, it is actually in stock.
