Land Rover launches new limited edition 75th anniversary Defender

Earlier this week, Land Rover announced an all new limited edition version of the Defender, for the 75th anniversary of the company. The car has a unique paint job, called Grasmere Green which extends its way inside the cabin and on to the alloy wheels. The new Defender will be a limited edition, but there is no ceiling on how many will be produced. Prices will start at £85,995 for the 90 and £89,995 for the 110.

Land Rover will only be offering this model in the 90 or 110 body sizes, for whatever reason the larger 130 has not been included in new edition. This is more of a styling package for the Defender, rather than a whole new car. It marks 75 years since the original Land Rover Series I was launched back in 1948.

Land Rover has gone to town making sure the car feels special, with the Grasmere Green paint, “75 Years” graphics around the car and Ceres Silver bumpers. The alloys are even finished in the same colour has the body.

In terms of engines, nothing special has been changed. On offer is a diesel D300 unit, with 296bhp as well as a petrol D400e hybrid unit, with 398bhp. There are a number of options on offer, with a 3D surround camera, 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system included as standard but a towing pack and fabric roof can be specced too.

The new 75th anniversary Defender can be ordered today, with prices from £85,995.
