New Windows 10 update delayed, due to blue screen issue

New Windows 10 update delayed, due to blue screen issue

Last week, Microsoft did have a new major update for Windows 10 ready and waiting to be pushed out, with April 10th as the day marked for the release. However some last minute issues with the release, resulted in an entirely new build to testers instead of a patch being issued out.

What was the issue?

The main bug was spotted in a release (17133) which wasn’t made available to the public, only to the Insider track for users and developers testing out early versions of Windows 10. The bug did cause an increase in the amount of blue screen crashes on a machine. While a small security update was seeded out, it didnt address the BSOD issue, so Microsoft, weirdly is releasing an entirly new build (17134) for the Insider testers which is said to fix the Blue Screen of Death issue, along with some other bugs.

“As Build 17133 progressed through the rings, we discovered some reliability issues we wanted to fix, in certain cases, these reliability issues could have led to a higher percentage of (BSOD) on PCs for example.”

Dona Sarkar, Windows Insider Program head
