Toyota put the new GR86 sports car on sale here in the UK last April, priced from £29,995 and it sold out in just 90 minutes. The company has never confirmed how many GR86 units were allocated to the UK but according to recent communication between Toyota and customers on the waiting list, it does look like that extra allocation for the UK could be on its way.

Toyota Motor Europe COO, Matt Harrison has confirmed that the company is working hard to alleviate the waiting lists in some areas where demand is high. This could be in reference to the UK, as demand is indeed high here for the GR86. However, he did go on to say that he was not aware of any specifics for the UK.

The Toyota GR86 follows on from the iconic GT86 which was debuted almost ten years ago. The GR86 has a much more friendly design and also some extra power, something the outgoing car was lacking. The new car is only available in the one trim level, which has 18-inch alloy wheels, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera, LED headlights and much more.

At the moment, Toyota have said that any chance of getting a place in the queue is if an existing customer has cancelled.
