Ubiquiti debuts new U7 Lite access point with WiFi 7 for $99

UniFi U7 Lite AP

With its entry level access points, Ubiquiti has been pretty successful with the UAP AC Lite, then with the most recent U6 Lite. Now the company has followed this up with the launch of the U7 Lite.

Sharing the same footprint as the U6 Lite, this new AP supports 801.11be (WiFi 7) but only on 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Support for 6GHz isn't as mainstream just yet so to bring the price down, the U7 Lite doesn't support it and Ubiquiti has maintained an affordable price point, at $99 in the US and £94.80 in the UK.

The main changes here between the U6 Lite and U7 Lite is the addition of WiFi 7, but also most notably is the addition of a 2.4GbE ethernet port, which is important as with WiFi 7, 5GHz can now handle 240MHz channel widths, bumping the max data rates up to 4.3 Gbps.

Due to sharing the same footprint as the U6 Lite, all the existing mounts will work - making upgrading much simpler.
