Enterprise networking company, Ubiquiti Inc has notified its users today about a security breach that, according to the company might have had access to customer details and the company has said that it had not seen any unauthorized access to user accounts.

“We recently became aware of unauthorized access to certain of our information technology systems hosted by a third party cloud provider.”

Ubiquiti uses its remote systems to facilitate cloud brokers for remote access to controllers stored on premise with customers as well as managing its community forums etc. Ubiquiti has said that the intruder could have had access to names, email addresses and hashed passwords.

As a result of this, Ubiquiti is urging its users to change UI.com account passwords as well as sensibly, enable 2FA (two factor authentication). It is also a good idea to disable 2FA then set it back up again if 2FA is currently used.
