Vietnamese electric car company, Vinfast is looking to enter the UK market before the end of 2024 according to a new report from Autocar. The company has only been around since 2017, founded by Vietnam’s richest person, Pham Nhat Vuong. The company has been selling its vehicles in the US, most notably with the VF8 which has been poorly reviewed by some outlets.

Vinfast is already selling the VF8 SUV in France, Germany and the Netherlands. In France for example the VF8 costs €50,990 (£43,900) with a 87.7kWh battery and 293 miles of range. The company also has the smaller SUV VF5 and the VF6. Despite some poor reviews in the US, Vinfast have rectified some of those and offers a 10-year / 200,000km (124,280-mile) warranty.

Vinfast has already hired the former head of Genesis UK, Andrew Pilkington and he is now the CEO of the UK division. Vinfast is also understood to be expanding the team in the UK ahead of deliveries at the end of 2024.
