What cars are we looking forward to in 2025?

2024 has been a super busy year for new car launches, with most of the interesting ones being EVs. Some of the highlights were the new Ford Puma Gen-E, which was revealed and is also now on sale, the Renault 4 was launched, the very popular Kia EV6 was refreshed with an updated design, the brand new Kia EV3 was also revealed, the EV only Porsche Macan was launched and went on sale and finally, the new Ford Capri was revealed - which ruffled a few feathers.

But now, on to what we are looking forward to for 2025. There are plenty of brand new cars coming this year - and the ones we are looking forward to the best, are pure EV!

Ford Puma Gen-E

Launch Date - March 2025
Price - From £29,995

The new Ford Puma Gen-E was only revealed last month, and is actually already on sale. This car has long been awaited as the natural successor the Fiesta, but for the electric age. Ford has taken their sweet time with this one, so let's hope it is good to drive and is actually efficient. Pricing is good on this one, priced the same as the Jeep Avenger, which was recently dropped in price.

Hyundai Inster

Launch Date - Spring 2025
Price - From £23,495

It is safe to say that the Inster caught the attention of car fans, journalists and everyone in-between last year. The Hyundai Group has quickly become EV experts in recent years, with the likes of the Kia EV6, Genesis GV60, Hyundai Ioniq 5 & 6. And when this group comes out with an affordable, small EV with loads of tech - oh boy did we stand up and listen.

Kia PV5

Launch Date - 2025
Price - Unknown

Speaking of the Hyundai Group - the Kia PV5 should also be super interesting. The group is well known of its EV chops, so lending its tech to the EV van market should combine into a decent recipe.

Volkswagen ID.2

Launch Date - 2025
Price - £21,000-£23,000 est

Volkswagen has also, like Ford been taking its sweet time with its affordable electric car. The ID.2 is finally due to be launched in 2025 and is supposed to be an affordable EV for the masses. The concept has been shown off and has been previewed by various outlets since, but the final design and specs are due to come later this year. At this stage, we don't know the battery size, range or power output. However, considering the Puma Gen-E is a similar size, the battery options might be similar, if not a bit larger.

Xpeng G6

Launch Date - 2025
Price - Under £30,000 est

New car brands are always fascinating. In 2024, we saw a number of brand new car companies launch in the UK, including Skywell and Omoda. However, another brand Xpeng is due to launch in 2025 with the G6. It'll be sold in the UK by International Motors Limited, who is also responsible for importing GWM Ora, Subaru and Isuzu into the UK.

Porsche Boxster and Cayman Electric

Launch Date - 2025
Price - £50,000-£70,000 est

Porsche is moving into the EV space with both feet. First came the Taycan, then the Macan and now coming in 2025 will be the company's sports cars. It has been said that going forward, the Boxter and Cayman will be EV only models, just like the new Macan. At this stage, not much is known but it is due to launch in 2025.
