Volkswagen announces new 261bhp all-wheel drive Tiguan, on sale now

Volkswagen has launched a new powerful version if its new Tiguan SUV, which on paper looks to be a 'Tiguan GTI'. It has the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine that we can find in the latest Golf GTI and the brand new Skoda Octavia vRS and has over 260bhp. This Tiguan trim also has 4Motion all-wheel-drive and adaptive suspension.

The new Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI 265PS, yes that is its name - can do 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 150mph. This one also comes with DCC Pro, the latest version of VW's adaptive chassis control system and can be adjusted for whichever type of road you are on, whether that be smashing down a b-road or just sitting on the motorway.

Inside, it is just like the other Tiguan models, the model itself was only refreshed a few months ago and added much improved technology. This R-Line has a 10.25-inch driver display, 12.9-inch infotainment screen, support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as 30 different colours for the ambient lights.

The new Tiguan R-Line 2.0 TSI 265PS will be available to order from tomorow, 15th August - with prices from £47,540.
