Apple’s latest version of iOS, iOS 8 is now available to download today and iPhone, iPad and some iPod touch users can now peruse the latest features and improvements.
To download the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iOS device. As we mentioned in a post yesterday, the update is available for iPhone 4s and later, iPad 2 and later (including both iPad minis) and the lonely 5th generation iPod touch.
Some people have been complaining about the storage requirements for installing iOS 8, a tweet from @Sonikku_a summed up the necessary steps.
“To anyone complaining about needing 5+GB to OTA update, you can just backup in iTunes, restore to iOS8, then load your backup.”
To anyone actually wondering what is included with iOS 8 – Siri is now smarter, a new Health app is included which can track your steps, a battery life indicator tells you which apps are using the charge in your phone, a new mode in camera called time-lapse is included. Plus interactive notifications, family sharing and improvsed iMessage and keyboard.
