Here in the UK, the tiers were adjusted on Sunday and as a result all of London is in a new tier 4, essentially meaning travel is very restricted over Christmas. Following on from this, Apple has closed a number of stores in the UK, as well as in Tennessee, Brazil and Mexico. Also in California, all of the company’s 53 stores have now been shut too.

In a statement to the New York Times the company outlined the reasons:

“Due to current COVID-19 conditions in some of the communities we serve, we are temporarily closing stores in these areas. We take this step with an abundance of caution as we closely monitor the situation and we look forward to having our teams and customers back as soon as possible.”

Apple has said that orders can still be made online for delivery and pick up.
