According to a report from Canalys Apple managed to ship 16% more Macs in 2020 than it did in 2019, but as the report point out it is still behind its main PC rivals, such as Dell, HP and Lenovo. The fact they are behind isn’t surprising, there isn’t a lot of companies willing to shell out over £900 per machine for an employee when it can tick the same box with a sub £400 Lenovo laptop.
Apple shipped 22.6 millón Macs to customers last year, whereas in 2019 that number was 19.4 million. This growth could be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic which pushed people to purchase new equipment for working from home.
However looking at the figures from Canalys Apple has shipped under 50% of what Dell did in 2020 but for every company listed here, they all had marginal improvements in sales numbers for 2020.
