Apple has today announced that new MacBook Air will be going up for orders this week, on 8th July with the first customer deliveries to start on 15th July. Next Friday, the M2 MacBook Air should also be available in stores too. The orders will go live at 5am PT this Friday.

The new M2 MacBook Air was revealed earlier last month at WWDC 2022 and has the brand new M2 chip, which has a 18% faster CPU, 35% faster CPU and 40% faster Neural Engine, when compared to the M1 chip. For the first time too, the memory capacity has been increased to up to 24GB. The M1 chip supports up to 16GB memory only.

The new MacBook Air has a slightly larger display, art 13.6-inches with a notch and a more industrial design. The design is very similar to the latest generation of MacBook Pro. There is also a new and upgraded 1080p webcam, two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The M2 MacBook Air is priced from $1,199 in the United States and from £1,249 here in the UK. Apple is still offering the previous genbetsaiton MacBook Air with the M1 chip, priced at $999 US / £999 UK.
