Today at WWDC 2022, Apple has announced the all new MacBook Air, which takes design inspiration from the latest MacBook Pro models, has all new colour choices, a return of MagSafe, upgraded webcam and more.

The new MacBook Air has the brand new M2 chip, completely redesigned body and a much brighter display with the same notch found on the new MacBook Pro. There are also some new colour options, with Starlight and Midnight alongside the usual Space Grey and Silver. The screen is a bit larger than the outgoing model, at 13.06-inches with a display of up to 500 nits.

On the side of the MacBook Air is a MagSafe connector, two Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The M2 chip can be configured with up to 24GB of memory, spread between the GPU and the system. The base M2 has an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, with the next step up having a 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU. The top spec model also comes the new 35W Dual USB-C charger.

The new MacBook Air will be available next month, with prices starting at $1,199 in the US, £1,249 int the UK. The older M1 MacBook Air will remain on sale, for $999 / £999.
